Lang added the wide variety and assortment of foods in the Deli department also make it a favourite in the community. Many people also come for Sobeys’ tasty rotisserie chicken.

Lang said there are so many popular items in the Deli; there is always something for every taste.

Sobeys, which is celebrating its 21st year in the Battlefords, also recently launched its new ready-meals program.

These Deli department quick meals are the perfect choice for people with busy schedules.

Lang describes the Ready Meals as individual meals ranging from about $7 to $9. The meals are all pre-cooked and ready to go.

“All you have to do is heat them,” he said. “It’s becoming more and more popular. We’re actually probably in the top 10 for Western Canada for Sobeys stores for selling them.”

The Deli department also offers a wide variety of meats and cheeses, home-made pizzas, sandwiches, and soups and salads – something for every palate. There is also Indian cuisine, and of course a twist on a traditional comfort food favourite – Mac and cheese.

“The meat and cheese counter in general is very popular with people,” Lang said. “They have lots to choose from.”

Lang added the Deli staff also offer samples, so customers can always try something new.

Planning a special event, dinner party or business lunch? The Sobeys Deli department offers a range of menu items for its Made to Order program also, including sweets, desserts and a variety of platters, so people can place their order ahead of time.

Sobeys North Battleford is located at 9801 Territorial Drive, and is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
