Local hotel recognized just months after opening

Just two months after opening, the Comfort Inn and Suites in North Battleford has been recognized by Choice Hotels Canada.

The hotel, which opened June 28, is still being finished up, yet it was recognized with the 2018 Best New Entry award in a new build Mid-Market Brand.

The town was looking at de-designating the former St. Vital Church a municipal heritage property - the first step toward future plans to demolish the building due to its dilapidated state. It held a public hearing on the issue Tuesday.

Town to meet with individuals opposed to removing church's heritage designation

The Town of Battleford plans to meet with several residents who wrote to the town in opposition of removing St. Vital Church's designation as a municipal heritage property.

NBCK Band welcomes back familiar face

The North Battleford City Kinsmen Band has a new but familiar face at the helm.

Michael Alstad was announced as the new director yesterday, his second stint with the NBCK Band. Alstad, who has been in Seattle for the last number of years, was also the director from 1992 to1999.

Waterhen teens learn life skills at multimedia gathering

Youth from Waterhen participated in an educational multimedia gathering in Toronto last week are now passing along the knowledge they gained to their community.
