NBCHS Drama Club presents: A Christmas Carol

North Battleford Comprehensive High School’s (NBCHS) Drama Club is hosting A Christmas Carol tonight at the Dekker Centre.

Stars’ goalie, Joel Grzybowski made 27 stops to secure his second shutout of the season. The Hafford, Sask., product has been extremely hot as of late, posting a .926sv% or better in each of his last six starts.

Tonight will mark the fourth game of the season series between the Battlefords North Stars and Nipawin Hawks. The Stars are 1-0-2 against Nipawin so far with two of the previous three games being decided in a shootout.

The Battlefords North Stars are back in action tonight at the Civic Centre, as the team welcomes the defending-champion Nipawin Hawks to town.

The SJHL recently recognized Stars’ forward Owen Lamb as the North Stars’ community ambassador for the Battlefords, an honour given to just one player on each of the league’s franchises.

Hometown Star Lamb recognized as community ambassador

With 16 goals and 26 points through his first 32 games, North Stars’ forward Owen Lamb has already eclipsed his previous mark to set career highs in each statistical category and he still has just under half a season left to build on these totals.

JPII Junior Boys take home second-straight gold

The John Paul II Junior Boys Basketball team won their second-straight gold medal over the weekend at a tournament in Melfort.

Playing the Weyburn Eagles in their first game Friday, the Crusaders’ boys demolished their opposition to the tune of a commanding 83-35 win.

With a combined 119 career games played split between the SJHL and MJHL, Rob Holoien knows what it takes to be an impact player at the Junior level while also bringing an additional two plus years of coaching experience to the North Stars fold.

North Stars name new assistant coach

The Battlefords North Stars have announced the hiring of a new assistant coach who will work alongside head coach Brayden Klimosko on the bench.

Rob Holoien, from Melfort, has coached the last two and half years for the Junior B Carrot River Outback Thunder hockey club.

North Stars seek revenge against Ice Wolves

Coming off a tough 3-1 loss last night to the La Ronge Ice Wolves in Pinehouse, the Battlefords North Stars will aim to avenge their defeat tonight, taking on the same Ice Wolves team, this time in La Ronge.

Ice Wolves freeze Stars, 3-1

The Battlefords North Stars fell 3-1 to the La Ronge Ice Wolves in Pinehouse Thursday night.

For La Ronge the win marked their first in 15 games, snapping a 14-game losing streak that began Oct. 30th.
