Proposed changes to panhandling bylaw squashed

 After much debate, the majority of North Battleford council defeated a proposed amendment to the city's panhandling bylaw at its meeting Tuesday.

Council voted 5-2 against changing the existing bylaw, with only Mayor Ryan Bater and Coun. Greg Lightfoot favouring the amendment.

N.B. drummer enjoying success with High Valley

A North Battleford area musician is making a name for himself south of the border these days, playing with the band High Valley.

Drummer Andrew Hemmerling decided to moved to Nashville with his wife Cheilon, also from North Battleford, in June 2016 to work with the band.

Battlefords Community Players celebrates new home

 After five years in a labour of love, the Battlefords Community Players (BCP) will launch its new season this month at the Battlefords Community Players Club House at 102-26 Street W. in Battleford.
