Public inquest into death of Brydon Whitstone set for December

Nov 2, 2018 | 11:25 AM

The public inquest into the death of Brydon Whitstone will occur from Dec. 3 to 7 at Court of Queen’s Bench in Battleford.

The first day is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., with remaining start times to be determined by the presiding coroner, Robert Kennedy.

Whitstone, 22, was fatally shot on Oct. 21, 2017, in an altercation with RCMP in North Battleford.

RCMP have said they pursued a vehicle after reports of a man being chased and shot at in the city. The chase ended shortly after the suspect rammed a cruiser. That is when officers opened fire.
