As his defence lawyer was unable to attend court due to illness, the case for the man accused in September’s Amber Alert is adjourned until Oct. 25.

Johnathan Ryann Gunville, 19, who remains in custody in Saskatoon, appeared via closed-circuit television Friday in North Battleford Provincial Court.

The 19-year-old North Battleford man faces several charges including abduction, unlawful confinement, abandonment of a child and vehicle theft.

The Amber Alert was triggered on Sept. 16 when an SUV parked outside a strip mall in North Battleford was stolen with a six-year-old girl in the back. The vehicle, with the girl still inside, was found in an industrial park about 12 hours later.
