Turtleford RCMP investigating death considered suspicious

Mounties are investigating a death they’re calling suspicious on the Thunderchild First Nation near Turtleford.
On Sept. 15, the RCMP received a complaint of an unresponsive male at a home. When police arrived at the house, members located Roger Standingwater, 57, in medical distress. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced him deceased.
Police are receiving additional assistance from other RCMP units including the RCMP Major Crimes Unit North, North Battleford GIS and the Forensic Identification section.
A pathologist conducted an autopsy yesterday, Sept. 18 to determine the cause of Standingwater’s death.
