The Sask. Baseball Hall of Fame had a record setting year for their Ears and Beers event on Friday.

One hundred and three people attended the event, where visitors were served a hot dog and hamburger barbecue, along with corn on the cob, coining the phrase ears and beers. The turnout was the best they’ve ever had, CEO and President Jane Shury told battlefordsNOW.

“I was very pleased, I think it went very well, the ticket sales were greatly increased from last year,” she said. “It was a very good event, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly. The bean bag game was enjoyed by many. It was just fun, and everybody wants to come back for next year.”

Shury said many people came to attend the event, from Lloydminster, Pierceland, and the Battlefords and surrounding area. Unfortunately, the event didn’t run last year, but the response that the community had for this year’s event was outstanding, according to Shury.
