Battlefords North Stars hires new Marketing Director

Sep 6, 2018 | 5:00 PM

Jennifer Whyte is the new marketing director and office manager for the Battlefords North Stars.

Whyte moved to Saskatchewan 10 years ago and has lived in the Battlefords with her family the last eight years.

She said she has always had a passion for marketing, and looks forward to the opportunity her new job with the North Stars presents.

“Some people work out as a hobby, some people knit as a hobby; marketing and event planning, and coordinating things that people can immerse themselves in, is just something I have always had a passion for,” Whyte said.

She said marketing for the North Stars in particular, comes with an added thrill.

“The North Stars has been such a big, exciting part of the community; it’s really hard to pass up the chance to be a part of that,” she said.

The new addition joins the North Stars after time spent working at North West College, where she had the opportunity to work closely with students to set up functions, and handle other marketing responsibilities such as managing the school’s app.

When it comes to counting down to the start of the season, Whyte said she’s not the only one looking forward to her new job with the North Stars organization.

“I’m super excited. I can hardly wait. My son just idolizes the North Stars, as do hundreds and thousands of other young kids in this community, so just to be a part of that is really thrilling,” she said. “I truly think it’s important to shine a bright light on this organization for all the hard work they put in all year long.”

Shandon Reichert, president of the North Stars said Whyte’s familiarity with the community along with her experience and passion for marketing made her an ideal fit for the job.

“She’s been a part of the community for a very long time, and she’s worked in this community for a very long time,” Reichert said. “We saw that she had experience and really held the qualifications we were looking for to fill this position as office and marketing manager for the North Stars.”

The North Stars’ Kickoff Breakfast is Sept. 13, and the home opener is Sept. 14.
