UPDATE: Police arrest man wanted for violent assault

UPDATE: Jay Siah is now in custody according to a media release from the Battlefords RCMP.

Battlefords RCMP are searching for a 30-year-old man in connection with a violent assault of a 26-year-old woman.

Jay Siah is wanted on an arrest warrant that has been extended across Alberta and B.C. for assault causing bodily harm.

Officers were called to the Battlefords Union Hospital Sunday at around 4:30 a.m., for a female who was unconscious and receiving treatment to stabilize her condition. She was transported to Saskatoon, where she remains in serious but stable condition.

Siah was last seen wearing jeans, a heavy jacket with a white design on the back and a fleece sweater underneath. He is described as 5’7″, 140 pounds with a medium build, black short hair and brown eyes, with a lower left lip ring.
