Nominations are now open for the province’s highest honour, the Saskatchewan Order of Merit.

Lieutenant Governor W. Thomas Molloy announced nominations will be open until Nov. 1 for the 2019 awards. In a statement, Molloy said the Saskatchewan Order of Merit is meant to recognize the most outstanding citizens of the province.

“Our province is full of committed individuals who have made our home a better place,” Molloy said. “I encourage everyone to consider nominating a deserving person.”

The award was first established in 1985 in order to recognize those who have made contributions to Saskatchewan’s cultural, social and economic well-being, and previous winners have contributed through arts, business, industry, agriculture, and volunteerism.
