North Stars Golf Classic fast approaching

Aug 9, 2018 | 2:00 PM

They say golf is a good walk spoiled, but a great opportunity for hockey fans in the Battlefords to spoil themselves by golfing with the North Stars is coming up in just over a week.

The Battlefords North Stars Golf Classic will take place Aug. 17 at Jackfish Lodge and Conference Centre. North Stars’ Director of Marketing Caitlyn Gray said fans hoping to attend can look forward to a great turnout once again this year.

“Right now we’re at about 13 teams,” Gray said. “It’s an 18-hole golf course, so we’d like to fill up the course as much as we can.”

Gray said the North Stars Golf Classic is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with several current players and even some fan-favorites from the past.

“People can register as a team of five, and then we add a North Star player or alumni member to each team to make it a team of six,” she said.

Tickets for the event are available now with registration open for groups or on an individual basis.

“You do get a bit of a discount if you sign up as a team of five,” Gray said, “but you can definitely sign up as an individual and we’ll just add you to a team.”

For more information on ticket costs or to register fans can head online to the North Stars website, call the office, or go to the rink directly.
