RCMP find rifles, shotguns and brass knuckles in Ministikwan area search

Loon Lake RCMP seized rifles, shotguns and brass knkuckles while searching an stolen vehicle in the Ministikwan area Saturday.

Police initially responded to a complaint in response to a tip that a stolen truck from Alberta was in the area. The RCMP said the driver of the vehicle was believed to have evaded police in other RCMP detachment areas earlier in the day. 

Loon Lake RCMP located the stolen truck and were able to stop it using a spike belt. The driver of the vehicle fled into the bushes and was located later the next day.

Police seized 22 rifles and shotguns located inside the vehicle – all believed to be stolen out of Alberta. They also found brass knuckles and other weapons inside the stolen truck. Police also seized Canadian and American currency.
