Saskatchewan man killed in ultralight crash near Grande Prairie

A Saskatchewan man is dead after a small aircraft crash near Grande Prairie, Alta.

According to RCMP, the 43-year-old male pilot was killed when the basic ultralight plane he was piloting crashed shortly after 2 p.m. July 31. There were no other occupants inside the aircraft, police said, and the pilot was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Although RCMP officers responded to the crash site, the national police force said they will provide no information regarding the cause of the crash. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada deployed a team of investigators from Edmonton to gather information and assess the crash.
