Police are continuing their search for a youth who fell into the water in an incident at Turtle Lake Tuesday.

Turtleford RCMP reported Wednesday afternoon they are still at the location at Turtle Lake near Kopps Cove searching for a missing 15-year-old male youth who fell from a boat into the water Tuesday and did not resurface. The other passengers on the boat were uninjured.

The RCMP said in a release they are continuing to search with assistance from Ministry of Environment officials and the Provincial Protection and Response Team. The RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team (URT) is also being used in the search.

Police are asking the public and the media to stay clear of the area to allow emergency personnel to perform their duties.

The search effort and investigation continues. The RCMP will provide further updates as new information becomes available.
