Registration is now open for Stars Hockey Camp

It may still be summer, but it’s time to start looking and planning for next hockey season.

The North Stars are preparing for their 2018 Hockey School that runs from August 20 to 24. Head Coach and General Manager Brayden Klimosko will be running the camp, along with returning players and Stars Alumni.

The camp has age groups from novice all the way to bantam, and the players in the camp will have the opportunity to be taught by the players and the coaches of the franchise.

Office and Marketing Manager Caitlyn Gray told battlefordsNOW how it works.

“We have all age groups, novice, atom and peewee are day camps,” she said. “And then we do the bantam and midget prep camps in the evenings over all five days.”

The camp also has a $60 lunch program that is catered for the players that is optional to sign up for when they register.

“For registration, all age groups are online,” Gray said. “You register and pay online to hold your spot, you have to finish the registration form and pay. Some of our age groups are filling up faster than others, the atom age group is already half full. I recommend registering right away so we have enough room.”

The nice part about the camp is the interaction that happens between the young players and the North Stars. Gray said she’s received lots of praise in past years.

“The kids like that there’s North Stars there helping,” she said. “They look up to them and they really enjoy having them help. Our players are so good with kids; it’s a huge part of our team. We work really hard to get our players involved and help the up and coming kids as well.”

The camp is $350 plus tax for the full day camps, and $150 for the bantam and midget evening camp.
