Recent wet weather helps officials lift fire bans

Jun 1, 2018 | 12:13 PM

While some may see the wet weather as an inconvenience, fire officials and local municipalities consider it a blessing as several areas lifted fire bans imposed in early May.

Today (Friday) the R.M. and City of North Battleford joined the R.M. of Medstead in rescinding its fire ban.

Yesterday, the R.M. of Meeting Lake and Mervin announced their respective fire bans had ended.

Dustin MacDonald, acting communications coordinator for the City of North Battleford, reminded residents that those wanting to use a fire pit, need a permit which are available at Battlefords City Hall.
