Alzheimer’s walk in N.B. makes memories matter

More than 70 Battleford residents gathered Thursday evening to raise funds and support for those living with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

For the first time ever, the walk was held outside amidst sunny skies and warm temperatures at the Centennial Park outdoor track. Event Co-ordinator Angela Klaasen, with the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan, said it was great to have an outdoor walk.

“We are super excited to be able to have this walk outside this year, plus we have a great crowd out to support us,” Klaasen said.

The Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan has always had great numbers come out for the Battlefords area with walk, she said. She estimated nearly 100 walkers were out taking part Thursday.
