Accused heading to trial for drug, weapons charges

The case involving a man facing drug and weapons related charges stemming from a March 22 bust in North Battleford will be going to trial this summer.
Nicolas Petalas, 23, who appeared in North Battleford provincial court via video link Thursday, entered not guilty pleas to a number of charges that include possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis in an amount not more than 3 kilograms, possession of the proceeds from crime, as well as several weapons-related charges.
A trial date has been set for July 25 at 9:30 a.m.
The allegations against Petalas have not been proven in court.
