No charges after boy’s death from dog attack

No charges will be laid after a police investigation into a dog attack that killed a six-year-old by in Riceton.

Milestone RCMP assisted the Coroner’s Office during the investigation into the incident which happened mid-September.

Police say it was determined based on the evidence and circumstances that there was no elements of a criminal, provincial or bylaw offence.

The large dogs, two Alaskan Malamutes known to the boy, were seized by Animal Protection Services during the investigation. Police are not releasing any further details on the circumstances of the boy’s death, or what occurred with the two dogs.
