M.L. woman facing gun, drug charges

One Meadow Lake woman is in custody after a traffic stop near Beauval yesterday morning, Oct. 17.

Around 11:55 a.m. members from Beauval and Ile a la Crosse RCMP pulled over a vehicle on Highway 155.

A 49-year-old woman with outstanding warrants was arrested. During a vehicle search, Mounties seized a handgun, 143 grams of crack cocaine and 63 grams of marijuana.

Laura Bouvier is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.

She appeared in Beauval Provincial Court today and is scheduled to return on Nov. 7.
