UPDATE: Phone service restored in St. Walburg area

Locals living in Paradise Hill and St. Walburg are unable to make long distance calls, and residents in Little Fishing Lake and Frenchman Butte are without a dial tone altogether.

SaskTel could not confirm the reason for the disruption but said they are aware of it and have sent technicians to fix the problem.

The company couldn’t provide a timeline for when the line will be fixed as their technician hasn’t identified the source of the issues yet. 

SaskTel also wasn’t able to provide what other communities might be affected, but ensured everything is being done to get service back up as soon as possible.

The Prarie North Health Region said landline to landline analog phones seem to be working, and added if anyone needs an ambulance, they can contact Marshall’s Ambulance at 306-248-3221 from a landline, until 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., residents will have to go to the town hall in St. Walberg if they have an emergency.
