Woman accused of white powder deliveries in police custody

A woman accused of nearly a dozen white powder scares in Saskatoon has been arrested.
 
Amanda Totchek, who now goes by the name Alexa Emerson, was taken into custody Monday morning according to a release from the Saskatoon Police Service.
 
Totchek was charged in November after five suspicious packages with white powder were delivered to businesses across the city.
 
She was released on bail Jan. 26, and ordered to live with family in Rocky Mountain House, Alta. She was allowed to return to Saskatoon for court dates only.
 
Since her release, eight more packages were delivered in the city. Police have charged Totchek in relation to six of those cases, including delveries to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre  and Buena Vista School. 
 
She’s also suspected of being behind a package received by her defence lawyer, Brian Pfefferle.
 
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Totchek Friday afternoon. 

Police said officers were still interviewing Totchek as of 10:45 a.m. Monday and that they anticipated laying charges. 
 
Totchek was previously convicted in 2015 for  running a campaign of harassment against an ex-boyfriend that included mailing death threats and bomb threats to locations around Saskatchewan.
