The North Battleford area is under a freezing rain advisory today.

Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning Wednesday, with temperatures sitting at minus 3 degrees Celsius and a wind chill of minus 10 degrees Celsius.

Ice pellets mixed with freezing rain are forecast during the day, with a high of 4 degrees Celsius.

The freezing rain will change to rain showers in the afternoon. The area should also have about 5 cm of snow in the northern sections.

Winds gusting to 50 km/hr will diminish in the afternoon. Showers should end this evening.

Conditions will then turn mainly cloudy.

The low temperatures in the evening for the northern region will be minus 3 degrees Celsius.

Drivers will want to be careful on the roads during the day as conditions are icy and slippery.
