Police respond to multiple collisions and unrelated assault

Vehicle collisions and an assault lead the list of incidents police responded to over the last 24 hours.

Between 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 and 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27 Battlefords RCMP responded to roughly 35 occurrences according to a media release.

There was a report of a hit and run in the Cochin area. Police reported a parked vehicle received minor damaged, but remain investigating the vehicle and who was responsible.

An unrelated two-vehicle collision on Territorial Dr. near the Frontier Centre resulted in no injuries and minor damage to both vehicles.

Police are also investigating after all four tires were stolen off a vehicle parked on Railway Ave. Investigators said the theft occurred at around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Last night, Jan. 27, there was a report of suspicious people attempting to break into vehicles parked on the 800 block of 107th St.

In the early hours this morning a male was assaulted and sustained minor injuries. According to police, the male was given medical attention and the incident is still under investigation.

Officers arrested one person for alcohol/disturbance related offences. They also responded to seven traffic matters, two disturbances, three minor collisions, one reported missing person,who has since been located, and seven theft complaints.
