North Stars ranked seventh in country

The Battleford’s North Stars are in seventh heaven today after the latest Canadian Junior ’A’ hockey rankings were released on Monday.

The North Stars, who have amassed 66 points on the strength of a 33-7-0 record, are the number seventh ranked team in the nation. The Stars have won six in a row and were the only team in the SJHL to make the top 20 power rankings. Battleford was ranked ninth in Canada before the Christmas break.

The Canadian Junior Hockey League comprises of 10 Junior ‘A’ Hockey leagues across Canada representing 132 teams.

The Stars will hit the ice with their first home games since December 18 when they entertain Weyburn on Friday and Saturday night at the Battleford Civic Centre.
