Jan 3, 2017 | 1:00 PM

The Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling, Meridian Canadian Open is about to kick off in the Battlefords and battlefordsNOW has you covered with everything you need to know.

Two Saskatoon skips are in action on opening night Tuesday, with Bruce Korte facing off against against world number one Brad Gushue and Steve Laycock taking on Edmonton’s Brendan Bottcher. All five Tuesday draws begin at 7 p.m.

Scores and storylines from all five opening draws will be available online moments after their completion and that will continue all week long. Wednesday through Saturday scores will be updated four times a day, at 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. On Sunday, the men’s and women’s final will also be updated immediately after they finish. The men’s final begins at 11 a.m., while the women’s final starts at 3 p.m.

Post-game reaction and interviews from the game’s biggest stars will also be found on battlefordsNOW.com throughout the week, including video of the action, analysis, and video interviews.

If you’re on the go, make sure you tune into 1050 CJNB, as there will be on-air updates every few hours beginning at 7:30 a.m. every day.

The Meridian Canadian Open is a triple knockout round robin, where teams must win three games before they lose three games in order to qualify for the playoffs. It is just the third year the tournament has used the triple knockout format.

Teams who win earlier have the opportunity to advance with fewer games played. Teams that drop early games can still work their way back into contention, it just usually means a tougher journey.
