Several break-and-enters keep RCMP busy

Dec 10, 2016 | 3:00 PM

There were two separate cases of break-and-enter on Friday.

According to Battlefords RCMP, they arrested a 39-year-old man Friday night in relation to a break-in at a residence on Macdonnell Court in North Battleford.

The accused allegedly assaulted the homeowner before fleeing the scene.

He is facing charges of break-and-enter as well as possession of stolen property. He will remain in custody until his first court appearance on Monday at North Battleford Provincial Court.

RCMP handled a separate break-and-enter earlier in the day.

They received the call at 5:15 p.m. to a residence in the 1600 block of 102 St. in North Battleford.

Some electronics were stolen in the break-in, which RCMP said likely happened earlier during the day.

Earlier, near 11:30 a.m., a shed was reported broken into in the 200 block of 28 St. in Battleford, but it appeared nothing had been taken.

Between Friday and Saturday morning Battlefords RCMP responded to 50 incidents.
