Pumpkin Patrol preparing to keep trick-or-treaters safe

Oct 31, 2016 | 5:00 PM

While trick-or-treaters dodge from house to house in search of candy, the people at Access Communications will be patrolling the Battlefords to make sure they stay safe.

Regional manager Martin Smith said the Pumpkin Patrol vehicles will drive around the Battlefords from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 31, keeping an eye out for trick-or-treaters who may be lost or hurt.

“We strive on giving back to our community and I think this is just one initiative that we do to show that we care,” he said. “We’re a community-owned cooperative and we’re all about community and we want to make sure our communities are safe and a great place to live.”

This is the 19th year the Pumpkin Patrol will be out for Halloween in the Battlefords, and the 12th year as partners with WPD Ambulance.
