AAA Stars defenceman named to provincial U-16 team

AAA Stars defenceman Luke Reid was named to the U-16 Saskatchewan Hockey provincial team that will compete in the 2016 Western Canada Challenge Cup in Calgary in mid-October.

Reid, an assistant captain on the Stars who just turned 15 last week, has one assist through three games this season.

This is Reid’s second season on the AAA Stars. He had six goals and nine assists in 43 games last season.

The Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup will take place from October 18 to 23 at the Martin McPhail Centre located in Canada Olympic Park, where Team Saskatchewan will face off against provincials teams from Alberta, B.C., and Manitoba.
