Water advisory in N.B. expected to end soon

Residents in North Battlefords can rest assured a boil water advisory is soon to be over.

The advisory was issued Wednesday, July 6. Roughly 50,000 gallons of treated water leaked into the system as a result of a failed valve during scheduled maintenance on the city’s water tower.

The city is still treating the water North Battleford City Manager Jim Puffalt said. The tests done thus far have come back without problems. They’re now waiting for the green light from the province before lifting the advisory.

“It’s a huge inconvenience for people,” Puffalt said. “They have to boil water before using it and we really apologize to the people but it’s something out of our control. We are moving as fast as we can to correct it.”
