Hundreds coming to North Battleford for First Nations conference

First Nations leaders from across the province will descend on North Battleford this week.  

The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations will bring together leaders from 74 First Nations for their Spring Legislative Assembly today, May 25 and Thursday.

Between 700 and 800 people will gather for the event including the assembly, which is made up of 74 chiefs, 12 tribal chiefs, 20 senators, 20 veterans and 5 executive.

MaryAnn Mihychuk, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, will attend the conference and is scheduled to make an announcement about the Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy.
