Beavers prevail over Canucks

It was quite a roller coaster ride for the Beavers in their double header against the Moose Jaw Canucks.

North Battleford barely squeaked out a win in the first game on Saturday May 14, winning 3-1 in a pitching contest. 

The second game was much different.

The Beavers were up 9-6 heading into the final inning. The Canucks rallied to score five runs at the top of the seventh to put North Battleford into a three run hole.

The Beavers were able to persevere however, scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh to bring their overall record to 4-1-1.

At this point last year the Beavers were 1-6 which, is a huge improvement.

They play another double header at home on Sunday May. 15 against the Regina Buffalo at 10 a.m. and noon in North Battleford at the Beaver Lions Stadium by the Civic Centre.
