The Rodeo comes to North Battleford

It’s time to put on your cowboy hats, boots and biggest belt buckle. The 46th Annual Kinsmen Indoor Rodeo is being held in the Civic Centre this weekend, ending today, May 1.

“We like to raise some funds for different community causes,” said Julie Cook, committee member for the rodeo.

All the money from the rodeo will go to the Kinsmen Club, who do various fundraising for local and provincial charities.

“We did a $5,000 donation to the Cancer Society in honour of Brandy Young who was the daughter of our stock contractor who passed away from cancer this spring.”

The rodeo showcased riders of all ages from as young as five to seniors. “Everyone loves the bull riding and the rough stock events,” Cook said, adding, “Nobody complains when they see a cowboy hit the dirt but it’s nice to see them ride too.”
