Battleford U13 volleyball team wins gold at Provincials

The Battleford Riverside Rebels U13 team won gold in the tier one category at the Conexus Provincial Volleyball Championships in Warman over the weekend.

Eight teams competed in tier one and the Rebels defeated Saskatoon HVC in three sets, 23-25, 25-16, 15-11 in the finals to capture top spot.

There were two other Battleford teams competing in tier one as the Battleford Heat finished sixth and the Battleford Xplosion came seventh.

The Meadow Lake Xtreme Renegades competed in the U13 tier two category, finishing in seventh place.

In the division one tier one U14 category, the Battleford Impact were the top seed heading into the event but were upset as they finished in fourth place with a three-set loss to the Oxbow Black Knights.
