Few people using garbage reminder service

Mar 31, 2016 | 3:19 PM

An online service that reminds North Battleford residents when it’s time to put out the garbage may end up in the trash, if more people don’t start using it.

City council was told this week that only one in four property owners use the ReCollect app, which reminds people when garbage and recycling pickup is.

Communications coordinator Suzanne Abe says the ReCollect app costs roughly $6,500 yearly.

Abe says the service will continue to be made available during 2016, but will be revisited in the future.
