Mar 30, 2016 | 6:19 AM

The Ness Creek Music Festival has been named as one of three finalists for the Sask Tourism Marquee Event of the Year award.

The award is given to an event that generates economic and cultural benefits for Saskatchewan, and attracts national and/or international spectators.

The Ness Creek Music Festival has grown steadily in size since 1991

What began as a two day event with seven bands and 200 people, has grown into a four day event that attracts over 4,000 people.

The Sask. Tourism awards will take place in Regina, April 14 at the Conexus Arts Centre.

Ness Creek is up against Canadian Western Agribition and the RCMP Musical Ride at Fort Walsh Historic Site.
