Writ to drop Tuesday

Mar 8, 2016 | 7:39 AM

Tuesday is the day the writ will drop.

Per the 27-day minimum for a campaign required by The Election Act, Tuesday, March 8 is the last day the premier can drop the writ for a vote on Monday, April 4. That means sometime, somewhere in the province Tuesday, Brad Wall will meet with the lieutenant-governor.

For many the campaign has already started. The NDP have made official platform announcements already, including bringing the film tax credit back and a focus on mental health.

The other parties, the Green Party, Progessive Conservatives and the Saskatchewan Liberals, have also begun to ramp up their campaigns.
