Two people killed by flu in Saskatchewan

Feb 29, 2016 | 6:31 AM

The number of flu cases in Saskatchewan is growing and the province’s chief medical health officer expects that to continue.

“We’ll probably see more ICU admissions and, unfortunately, deaths for the next four to six weeks before things start settling down,” said Dr. Saqib Shahab.

The province is reporting two deaths linked to the flu this year. Shahab recommends seeing a doctor quickly if your condition worsens, as medication can help.

An option for fighting influenza is the flu shot which the province offers until the end of March.
