Vikings lose in consolation round at home

Feb 28, 2016 | 1:46 PM

North Battleford Comprehensive’s Vikings lost to the Lloydminister Comprehensive Barons in the consolation game on Saturday night.

“The problem when you live and die by the three is that well, you live and die by the three,” head coach Jamie Summerfeld said of the 91-67 loss. “If you’re not hitting the three then you have to find another way and with our youth right now, we’re struggling to find that other way.”

Summerfeld said he was happy with the effort put forth by his team but not by the results.

The Vikings fell short of making it to the finals, losing to the Moose Jaw Peacock Toilers in the semi-finals earlier Saturday 79-72. Coach Summerfeld felt a poor shooting percentage was the reason for that loss as well.
