The best senior curlers in Saskatchewan will be on the ice the rest of this week in the Battlefords.

The Twin Rivers Curling Club is hosting the Provincial Senior Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships at the Northland Power Curling Centre. There are eight teams and eight women’s teams in the round-robin, alternating in draws at 9, 12:30, 4, and 8 through mid-Saturday.

The defending champion women’s team skipped by Cathy Inglis will be taking part once again, along with the men’s champion team now skipped by Brad Law. Other familiar names include Sherry Anderson and Joan McCusker, who was a member of Sandra Schmirler’s world and Olympic champion team. Big names in the men’s field include Eugene Hritzuk and Brad Heidt.

Playoffs begin later on Saturday. The champion teams that emerge on Sunday will go on to Digby, N.S. for the Canadian championships later in March.
