UPDATE: Missing N.B. man found

UPDATE: After weeks of searching and preparing for the worst, a family has finally made contact with their missing relative.

Andrew Sawatzky went missing June 5. His mother Tammy Ring said Sawatzky called her from a relative’s house in Edmonton, and told her he planned to return to North Battleford to be with his father and sister.

Ring had said she was thrilled to learn her son was alive.

“It’s a weight lifted,” she said. “We’re all breathing now that we know he’s alive.”

Andrew Sawatzky, 26, was last seen at 10 p.m. Sunday, June 5 in the 500 block of 104th St. He was reported missing the following afternoon.

Sawatzky was described as Caucasian, approximately 6’1”, 250 lbs., with brown hair. He had a beard when he was last seen.
