Moosomin First Nation raises concerns over possible drug activity

Oct 27, 2026 | 10:59 AM

Moosomin First Nation has issued a community safety notice following reports of possible drug-related activity in the community.

Five locations, including Treaty Land Entitlement homes, are currently being monitored through local processes, according to the notice. Formal letters will be issued to communicate identified concerns and outline next steps as the Nation continues to assess the situation.

“Drug-related activity can have serious effects on community safety and well-being,” the notice states. “It can cause fear and stress, put children, Elders and other residents at risk and strain families and local resources.”

The Nation is asking community members to help prevent drug- and gang-related activity as it continues to work with the RCMP and Sask. Marshals Service to support community safety.

“Meaningful progress depends on all of us working together for the betterment of our entire community,” the notice continues. “By sharing information responsibly, supporting one another, and respecting Nation policies and processes, we can help build a safer, healthier, and stronger Moosomin First Nation for current and future generations.”

Community members are advised not to approach or confront anyone they believe may be involved in unsafe or unlawful activity, or attempt to remove them. Anyone facing an immediate danger or emergency is asked to contact the RCMP.
