Onion Lake RCMP search for fourth suspect following arrests in theft investigation

Oct 26, 2026 | 2:01 PM

Onion Lake RCMP have charged three people and are searching for a fourth following an investigation into a stolen ATV and firearms offences.

On Oct. 22 at about 5:30 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a stolen ATV. The suspects also pointed firearms when confronted.

Officers patrolled the area and found the stolen ATV abandoned. A short time later, they located people matching the suspect descriptions in a grey car. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled. Officers deployed a tire deflation device, which the car drove over, before the suspects fled on foot.

RCMP Police Dog Services tracked the suspects to a residence, where officers found a man hiding in the bushes. He was arrested and required medical treatment for injuries associated with the arrest. He was later released on an undertaking.

Police Dog Services and Onion Lake RCMP then located three more people inside a residence on Onion Lake First Nation and arrested them. One person was released without charge.
