Mr. Richard Landrie

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Richard Ernest Landrie, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
Richard was born on April 4, 1948, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to James Landrie and Mabel Landrie. He was a gruff man, who would give anyone the shirt on his back and provide a helping hand. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. A CN man, Richard spent the majority of his adult life working for Canadian National Railway before retiring to enjoy his time with the love of his life, Barb, and their dogs.
Richard and Barb shared over 50 years of love, adventures, and memories together. They travelled, raised their family, and welcomed grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought them endless pride and joy. After losing Barb, Richard often reminisced about their travels, the life they built, and the big, beautiful family they created together. We find comfort in knowing that Richard is now reunited with Barb, the love of his life.
Richard will also be reunited with his parents, James and Mabel Landrie; his siblings Myrtle Trotchie, Monica Sather, Wilfred Landrie, Lawrence Landrie, Thelma Christensen, and Gail Deimling; his beloved dogs, Chip and Ginger; and many dear family members and friends who went before him.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by his children, Connie (Lionel), Bill (Cindy), and Nick (Sabrina); his grandchildren, Niomie, Jared (Lisa), Daniel, Jessica (Daryl), Erica (Nathan), Isaiah (Grace), Dalton (Daniella), Elena (Kurt), Lucas (Ashley), and Kale; and his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Korbin, Emily, Harper, Isaac, Jacob, Blake, Carter, Finley, Poppy, Leeroy, and Sullivan.
He will also be remembered by his siblings, Valerie, Gordon, Pearl, and Violet, along with countless extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Richard was a man who liked things a certain way, took pride in a good hat and a good pair of boots, and valued hard work and time spent with family. He enjoyed visiting with his sisters and shooting the shit with his brothers. He was proud of the life he built and the family he and Barb shared, and those memories remained close to his heart.
Richard leaves behind a lifetime of stories, memories, and a family who will carry his love forward. Though he will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that he is once again beside Barb, reunited with the love of his life.
Please join us on October 23, at 1:00 p.m. at the Alex Dillabough Centre in Battleford to celebrate Richard’s life.
