North Battleford council to consider $300K to cover arena proposal costs
North Battleford city council will consider adding $300,000 to its proposed twin-pad arena budget to help cover proposal costs for two bidding teams that are not selected to build the facility.
The proposal, before council Tuesday, Oct. 13, would provide $150,000 each to two unsuccessful proponents for the Battlefords Regional Twin Pad Arena & Events Centre, provided they submit proposals meeting the city’s requirements.

According to a report from City Manager John Enns-Wind, the payments would encourage qualified teams to compete despite the substantial costs of developing designs, engineering plans, estimates and schedules.
