Bus carrying Martensville football players involved in crash

Two students are seeking medical attention as a precaution after a bus carrying football players from Martensville High School rear-ended another “large vehicle” on Thursday.

According to Prairie Spirit School Division, the crash happened at the Highway 12 off-ramp heading into Martensville at about 7:30 p.m. as the team was returning from a game in Saskatoon.

At the time of the crash, the bus was carrying 22 people, including students, a coach and the driver, the school division said. Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene after the crash.

According to the Martensville Fire Department, some of the passengers reported minor injuries, and one person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
