“Finally someone said it, I thought I was the only one. But yes 100 percent! Its almost like a fishy smell,” Irvin Applegarth commented. 

“When I filled up my jugs earlier in the week the water seemed to be almost foamy in the jug and it’s never looked like that before,” said Jeremy Nicotine. 

City officials said they have received inquiries from residents about the water but stressed that geosmin does not pose a health risk. The City of North Battleford has adjusted operations at its water treatment facilities to help minimize the impact of geosmin on consumers.
