Saudi Arabia to North Battleford: Local manager honoured with national McDonald’s award

“It’s motivating because recognition like this doesn’t mean the finish line. It feels like a challenge to keep growing, keep leading, keep providing,” he said.

Noarin began working for McDonald’s in 2005 in Saudi Arabia, where he also won an outstanding manager award. He said he stayed with the company because it offered consistent growth, a clear career path and strong training.

In 2024, he moved to North Battleford to be closer to family and continue building his career with the company in Canada.

“Winning this award in Saudi Arabia was meaningful, but winning again here in Canada carries a completely different weight, because different country, different culture, different team,” Noarin explained. “Excellence followed me. That’s not luck; I think that’s capability.”

For Noarin, being a good manager cannot be defined by one title or action. Instead, he said, it is reflected in how team members perform under their manager’s leadership.

That leadership is tested during busy shifts at the North Battleford restaurant, where Noarin said respect means correcting people without embarrassing them, protecting the team and communicating clearly so the shift runs smoothly.

“No manager wins anything alone on this award. It reflects on the people who trusted you enough to follow your lead and honesty.”

His team members were the first to congratulate him after learning about the award.

“They were very very happy when I step in on the restaurant, and they were telling me congratulations. Then when they tell me that, I tell them that ‘this is not my winning, this is our winning; this is for you, team.’”
