“He seems super excited about the season, getting me pretty pumped. Overall, he seems like he knows what he’s doing, and he’s going to lead a great team and hopefully put them in the running for a championship.” 

Logan had similar praise for Guiltner. 

“Great kid and a great family as well,” Logan said. 

“He just has such a depth of abilities and can really have an impact in so many different ways. We’re excited to get him in, get him accustomed to the junior hockey level and get him working and building his game toward being an effective night-in, night-out player for us.” 

Guiltner described himself as a “200-foot player.” 

“I really like playmaking, and I really like quick breakouts. Once we’re in the zone, I really like getting it down deep and then really cycling around.” 

He said the physicality of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League will be an adjustment, but he is looking forward to the challenge. 

“A lot more older guys, bigger kids, but I really like getting in the corners and everything. I’m pretty comfortable with that, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to transition well.” 

Logan, a former North Stars player, said Guiltner reminds him of his former 2016-17 teammate Keaton Holinaty. 

“The conversations Wylie (Riendeau) and I had about Brody were about that comparison. We saw a lot of Keaton Holinaty in Brody Guiltner, and Keaton was crucial to our success in winning a championship that year. He has such a depth of abilities and can really, I think, have an impact in so many different ways.” 

Logan said while he does not expect a perfect transition to the SJHL, he wants Guiltner to put in the work day in and day out. 

“Come in, work hard, make mistakes, get ready, try to apply your game through that stress. See how much of your authentic self can come through and just work at getting more of your game on a nightly basis.” 

Guiltner becomes the sixth 2008-born player to join the North Stars, alongside Easton Woytiuk, Millar Kramer, Lukamus Lehman, Grady Hodgins and Ethan Unger.
